After getting a tooth filling, you should stay away from the hard, crunchy, or sticky meals for a minimum of two weeks. Limiting hot or cold beverages and meals may also help alleviate dental sensitivity. Even after getting a dental filling, you can go ahead and brush your teeth as usual.

Things to avoid doing before a dental appointment.

At least five hours before your visit, don’t eat or drink anything (other than water). Food particles that become lodged in your teeth during a cleaning can be an annoyance for both you and your dentist if you take this precaution.
